日本の美術

明治以降を主とした「日本の美術」　
‘Japanese Art’ Collection featuring works beginning in the Meiji Era (1868-1912)

美術館の作品収集では、県出身・県ゆかりの作家や作品の位置づけが明確になるように、明治以降の近代日本美術の流れを見通すことを意図しています。県出身作家との関連も踏まえながら、歴史的に重要で評価の高い作家や作品を収集しています。

The museum collection is focused on modern Japanese art, looking at its evolution beginning in the Meiji Era(1868-1912),in order to evaluate art works by local Niigata artists, or those related to the prefecture.Works by historically important and respected artists with connections to Niigata are featured in the museum.
