県出身作家を主とした「新潟の美術」
‘Art of Niigata’ Collection featuring　works by the Niigata Artists

当館では、新潟県美術博物館時代から、新潟県出身や県ゆかりの作家を顕彰し、作品を集めることを活動目的の一つとしています。地域に密着した調査研究を進めながら、様々な情報や資料を集め、積極的に作品収集を行っています。

One of the main purposes of the museum has always been to collect works by local Niigata artists, or those related to the prefecture. The museum is actively working on searching for more art works by collecting various information and materials through community-based research.
